Learn From the Pros
Our hockey staff has been selected because of their expertise and full belief in the approach of the nca hockey prep program. Each staff member brings unique gifts, experience and commitment to the team and every player.

HEAD COACH
“I strive to be a servant leader. I want to inspire my players to become champions in every aspect of their lives.”

JOHN OLVER: Coach Olver joins FCA Hockey Prep with 35+ years of professional, college and junior coaching experience. After playing college hockey at Michigan, JO started his coaching career in 1984, and has spent time behind the bench and as a general manager in the AHL, ECHL, WCHL, NCAA, BCHL, and WSHL. JO looks at his coaching career in three stages: 16 years without God, 15 years as a Christian, and the past 5 years as a sold out believer with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. JO’s passion is to help our players become the best versions of themselves they can be, and that starts by having a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior.

HOCKEY DIRECTOR
“Coaching is not about the team’s record, championships or trophies, it is about impacting the lives of players so that each player competes in a way that brings glory to the Lord.”

RICK RANDAZZO: Rick and his wife Shannan launched Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Hockey in 2008 after spending 8 years as the head coach at the United Stated Naval Academy in Annapolis, as well as coaching for Team USA in Innsbruck Austria. Rick played 4 years of Division 1 hockey at Army West Point where he had over 100 collegiate points. After West Point, Rick spent 6 years in the Army as a Calvary officer and Army Ranger. Rick’s passion is to develop real men and see the hockey world ignited for Jesus Christ.

ASSISTANT COACH
“I am passionate about helping young men learn how to train to be their best as hockey players, come together as a team,
and trust the Lord’s grace along the way.”

TIM JACKMAN: Tim is joining NCA after a 14-year professional playing career, which included playing in over 400 NHL games and 400 AHL games. Knowing coaching was what he wanted to do next, he returned to Minnesota State University Mankato to finish his degree and gain valuable coaching experience as a member of the coaching staff. Not only does Tim want to share his experience playing
professional hockey but also his life before he was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and now as a follower.

STRENGTH COACH
“My passion as a coach is to connect and add value at every stage of development with the athlete. By sharing in the discipline and character that’s refined through training, I can better protect, correct, develop and educate the athlete so that they perform at their potential.”

TYLER TRAVIS: Currently the Division 1 Hockey program’s strength and conditioning coach at Mercyhurst University, Tyler has been working with FCA Hockey for the past 4 plus years. With a Masters’ Degree in Exercise Physiology from Minnesota State University Mankato, Tyler will design and monitor team and individual work out programs throughout the season.
